The program provides funding for incorporated, community-based not for profit groups and organisations to assist in hosting events, activities and community-based initiatives.
The Council has committed $90,000 under its 2016/17 Budget for the Community Support Program which includes four categories being Community Grants for amounts of up to $2500, Community Sponsorship, which is allocated monthly and is for amounts of up $500, the Youth Participation Grants for amounts of up to $1000 and the Major Events Funding program for amounts of up to $1500.
“These grants create good opportunities for all sections of the community to host events, revitalise community spaces, and purchase much needed equipment,” said Mayor, Cr Don Firth.
“The range of activities and initiatives covered by the Community Support Program is really broad and I encourage people to look at them and to consider applying,” said Cr Firth.
The Community Support Program opens on Monday 6 February 2017 and close on Wednesday 22 March 2017.
