VicEmergency App

The VicEmergency App is the official Victorian Government app for access to important information and warnings for all types of emergencies across the state.

The VicEmergency App filters information from many agencies, including:

  • Country Fire Authority
  • Life Saving Victoria
  • Victorian State Emergency Services
  • Various Government departments

You can download the VicEmergency App from Google Play or the App Store.

 

VicEmergency Hotline

The VicEmergency Hotline is 1800 226 226.

If you are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech impairment, you can contact VicEmergency Hotline through National Relay Service on 1800 555 677.

If you don't speak English, call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450.

In a situation where you can see or smell smoke, you can call the VicEmergency Hotline to check whether a planned burn is in progress.

You can call the VicEmergency Hotline to find out:

  • What you can and can't do on a Total Fire Ban day or during the Fire Danger Period (fire restrictions)
  • Current Fire Danger Ratings and what the ratings mean
  • Key bushfire preparation and planning information
  • Neighbourhood Safer Place location details
  • Recovery after a bushfire, including financial assistance essential water replacement and rehabilitation of assets and forest

During emergencies, tune into Benalla ABC Local 97.7 FM or Benalla ABC Local 106.5 FM. SKY NEWS broadcasts information on their website and on television to give advice during emergencies. Always use more than one source of information.
