Skate Park
The Skate Park is located at 26 Fawckner Drive, Benalla, near the Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop Learning Centre (Benalla Library) on the foreshore of Lake Benalla. It features a steel street course on a concrete base with ramps, rails, ledges, banks and quarters, as well as a huge pyramid.
Funding from the federal government under the Stronger Communities Program, along with Council funding and community fundraising led by the Friends of the Skate Park is being used to upgrade the facilities, including shade and seating and a new barbeque on the foreshore.
Competition grade lighting is installed at the facility. The lights operate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings until 10.30pm. If you're skating at that time, you'll notice a red strobe light indicates the lights are about to progressively turn off.
The Skate Park is a major hub of Benalla Rural City’s annual Wall to Wall Festival, drawing internationally acclaimed street artists to paint bold artworks on the bowl itself as well as on surrounding walls.
