Get ready to roll up your sleeves and make a positive impact on the environment as the Benalla community comes together to plant trees for a greener future.

National Tree Day is Australia’s largest tree planting event and Benalla Rural City Council is inviting people to take part in a community planting in the reserve from the Jaycee Island RV Parking to Psaltis Parade on Sunday 28 July from 11am to 1pm.

National Tree Day is an annual initiative of Planet Ark, that provides an opportunity for people of all ages to get involved and reconnect with nature, while helping to protect and enhance our natural environment.

Mayor Cr Danny Claridge, is encouraging the community to get involved with the planting and help revegetate the reserve from the Jaycee Island RV Parking to Psaltis Parade

“By participating in National Tree Planting Day you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the importance of trees, their role in the environment, and how they benefit our local ecosystem,” Cr Claridge said.

“It’s a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, I encourage everyone to come along and take part,” he said.
