Renowned Australian Author Rosalie Ham to visit Benalla Library
Published on 18 October 2018
Rosalie Ham, author of The Dressmaker, will be at the Benalla Library on Wednesday 14 November to speak about her latest book The Year of the Farmer.
Ms Ham is the author of three previous books, including her sensational bestseller The Dressmaker, now an award-winning film starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving. Rosalie was born and raised in Jerilderie, New South Wales where her family still farm.
The Year of the Farmer is set in a quiet farming town in country New South Wales, where war is brewing. After a few years of punishing dry weather tensions are building amongst the locals.
Library Co-ordinator Deb Saunders said having such a high calibre author visit the library is exciting.
“For people to be able to hear directly from Rosalie, ask her questions about her new book and about her writing is wonderful,” Ms Saunders said.
“That her topics are about rural and regional Australia is also something very relelvant to all of us.”
Ms Ham will be at the Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop Learning Centre (Benalla Library) on Wednesday November 14 at 6.30pm. Drinks and nibbles will be supplied.
