The 2017 Wall to Wall Festival and street art generally will deliver close to $6 million in economic benefit to Benalla Rural City, a study has shown.

The study, commissioned by the Council and undertaken by research specialist, Quantum Market Research shows that the Festival period from 7 – 9 April 2017 delivered $418,232 in benefit and the following 11 months will deliver $4,228,562 in benefit totalling $5,919,987.

The survey was conducted in two parts by an intercept survey, conducted both during and after the Festival.

It is calculated that 4,487 visitors came to Benalla for the Festival and a further 41,904 visitors came to Benalla to visit the Street Art outside of the Festival time.

“We know Street Art has delivered huge benefit to Benalla Rural City,” Mayor Cr Don Firth said.

“This study absolutely confirms what we knew anecdotally and I congratulate the Benalla Street Art Committee, the artists, the volunteers, Juddy Roller and every person who has been involved in the previous three street art Festivals in some way.”

“We are all looking forward to the fourth Wall to Wall Festival in April 2018.”
