As our building department is currently experiencing a high volume of enquiries, we ask that you show patience as we work through the backlog.

Benalla Rural City Council has implemented a customer portal to process all building application types. We will no longer be accepting hard copies. 

You can use the online portal to:

  • Submit a new building permit application
  • Apply to extend or amend an existing permit
  • Check on the progress of your application
  • Make online payments
  • Request inspections
  • Apply for a Report and Consent
  • Apply for Section 29A Demolition
  • Apply for building search records
  • Register your swimming pool or spa
  • Request property information
  • Submit a general building enquiry
  • Lodge documents

As a customer, you can create your own login for access to the customer portal. This allows you to submit your applications and enquiries directly into the portal.
