Live4Life Benalla: 2025 induction held recently

11 March 2025

Leading youth mental health initiative, Live4Life Benalla, held its 2025 induction for new and returning students from Year 9 and 10 recently.

More than 45 students from FCJ College and Benalla P-12 College joined the 2025 Live4Life Benalla crew as Mental Health Ambassadors recently to help lead, plan and deliver activities and events throughout the year, including the official Live4Life Benalla launch in May.

Mayor Cr Hearn congratulated the Live4Life Benalla program. As one of the first councillors involved, it’s exciting to see the program now in its 8th year, continuing to promote mental health literacy among teenagers.

“Live4Life is the only mental health education and youth suicide prevention model designed specifically for rural and regional communities,” Cr Hearn said.

“This program empowers young people to help promote positive mental health messages while raising awareness of mental health services and where young people can go for help.”

Since its inception in 2017, Live4Life Benalla has seen more than 200 young people volunteering with the program. The success of the pilot program in Benalla has also led to the program being adopted by ten other Victorian councils who have launched their own Live4Life model.

Live4Life Benalla is delivered with support from Benalla Rural City Council, FCJ College Benalla, Benalla P-12 College, Benalla Flexible Learning Centre, Benalla Health, Tomorrow Today Foundation, NESAY and NE Tracks LLEN.
